Notes
on Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Aloe Vera from Remedyfind.com
The following extract is taken from www.remedyfind.com.
Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) is best known for its ability to improve the
healing of minor burns and skin irritations when applied topically. Taken
internally as a juice or as capsules, Aloe may have immune stimulating
properties. Aloe contains an immunostimulatory polysaccharide called Aloeride,
which appears to activate macrophages, special immune system cells responsible
for scavenging and eliminating foreign bodies, including invading
microorganisms.
Aloe Vera also contain anti-inflammatory fatty acids that may be
helpful for the stomach and intestinal tract. It may serve to alkalize digestive
juices to prevent overacidity - a common cause of indigestion.
